People here tend to upload their found media in YouTube with the false sense of security that it wouldn't be taken down. Kinda dumb to not provide an backup.
Some things aren't being taken down anytime soon, but you definitely have a point. Perhaps upload the ones that will get taken down on YouTube on the Internet Archive instead.

Hugely agree. I think found media has its place on YouTube as a great way for said media to reach a new audience, but it absolutely should NOT be the only source said media is uploaded to.

Plus, some stuff isn't something you can just watch, per say. Anyone who just uploads footage of a lost game that the original developers don't care about being illegally distributed anymore on YouTube, & doesn't release the ROM is either really stupid, or a genuinely awful person.

Yesterday I found the lost australian "1 and 0 nly" on Youtube. I publish on the forum, exactly on the section about Found Media... And now I see that my post was deleted and that Dycaite itself told me "Not trolling, next warning you're out."
Not trolling? Bitch, I found the film. I even updated the Page on the main website.

I'm not going to ban anyone. But the negativity is not appreciated, that's all. If you wanna call me out on something legit, be my guest, but don't say things like "Dycaite doesn't know what he's talking about" when you don't even have the full story.
Memory is a fickle thing. This has been covered already, but I figured I'd pitch in a personal story about it. I recently found one of my personal lost media holy grails (a sub video from HazukiNoYume's old youtube channel). It's an not influential or important piece of media, but it's of great personal importance to myself. I'd had it downloaded to an old kindle of mine for about 4 months in 2018, then deleted it to make space for other things. I made the false assumption that HazukiNoYume's channel would stick around like most vocaloid youtube channels tended to do back then. It didn't. So the only thing I had left of this song was my own memory. I remembered that the music video was dark (it's not exactly a bright and cheery song, but what I mean specifically is that the video is set at night), I remembered that there was a string interlude in the middle of the song (this was correct). And I remember the word carousel being in the lyrics (this was correct). However, I misremembered most of the instrumentation. There is a piano section right after the string interlude, and my mind had decided that because of that the entire song was piano-driven. When I rediscovered it, it was absolutely the same song, but it' actually more of a hard rock song.
I'd post a link but you'd have to sift through a mega folder for a while to find it. Name of the song is Unraveled Ribbon, Wavering Heart by Minatsuki Toka
So yeah, memory is the worst source but sometimes it's all we have.
