What is one thing you hate about lost media hunting?

I was thinking of that today. Though I think I managed to avoid it.

Vague descriptions of stuff and the finances of getting footage or manuscripts anyways

Welcome to the club, rookie. This is one of the more disappointing roads you can end up on, even with connections or people who might be able to provide more insight. That's how it's been for me and a lot of low budget and obscure movies - and it usually never ends too well unless I get lucky and people behind it confirm that it's more than likely 100% lost.

Hotmail and aol is too old

AOL is incredibly popular and hip with the kids, I dont understand the use of the emoji here

People here tend to upload their found media in YouTube with the false sense of security that it wouldn't be taken down. Kinda dumb to not provide an backup.

I say Hotmail is still used because it and Outlook addresses are linked to Microsoft accounts and I'd suspect people would still use them to access other Microsoft services (Xbox Live, Office 365, Teams, etc), so there's still some kind of need for them. AOL on the other hand, there's really no point in using it anymore unless you're committed to keeping all of your old email addresses alive or wanna be a contrarian and use a service that isn't popular anymore to look cool or something (speaking from experience lol).
