So the other day, I remembered a show I saw an ad for several years ago called Imaginary Mary. It was a dramedy sitcom about a woman's imaginary friend coming back as an adult. Here's a gif of the title character.
So I looked it up and, as it turns out, her character design was changed when the show actually came out. Here's a gif of the same animation but with her finalized character model.
Wikipedia states "Elfman filmed her scenes first with a puppet in order for the animators to have a reference point, and then in a later take without anything to show what she was talking to. Dratch did her voice work separately in New York with the scenes already filmed. In September 2016, it was reported that the show's crew would make changes with the animation for the character, Mary, after it received a poor reception from ABC. ABC then reduced the original thirteen-episode order for the first season to nine episodes in order to allow the show's crew to make changes with the animation."
Aside from the original trailer(s) with the first design, which are few and far between, I have to wonder if there were any full episodes made with the original model or not. Figured I'd suggest this here.
