It's a question I've always had on my mind and I'm admittedly curious about. News stations here in the UK have test runs of different scenarios for the day where such a scenario may happen, here in the UK the most well known examples were Operation Forth Bridge which was enacted when the Duke of Edinburgh Prince Phillip passed away and London Bridge is the one for the day when The Queen passes away. I saw once there's one for if the Prime Minister was to pass away whilst in office which nearly happened with Boris Johnson last year. But the end of the world would be something totally unique and different from any other scenario.
The Sky One series You, Me and Apocalypse actually had a news report done by Sky News at the very end with the newscaster stating ''it's time to brace ourselves, to say goodbye, thank you all for watching, I hope we'll meet again'' considering it was a Sky production I wonder if they actually got some insight into how the end of the world would be reported for the news report to be as realistic as possible. CNN had that end of the world tape which can be found here www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6f7j1E61sM
So just interested to know how the end of the world would be covered and reported on? Plus If you've worked for a news channel or in the media before do you have any idea/insight into what would happen?

We're witnessing it now with climate change. A few outlets will tell us the truth but most will deny, obfuscate the grim reality or "balance" the scientists with some quack skeptics lest they be accused of bias. When the tipping point finally comes, rather than acknowledge their shortsighted arrogance, the doubters will blame scientists for not warning them enough. The outlets will go "omg, how did this happen, who could have seen this coming" and scapegoats will be thrown under the bus. I wouldnt put it past Fox news to run stories about how it's gods retribution against transgender people. CNN wont have their anchors say it but theyll interview people on the street who will. Their hallow but pretty talking heads will unhelpfully yell over each other as they do, with little ofvalue being said. Probably some bimbo will speculate that the hacker known as 4chan had something to do with it, or that the same Black hole that swallowed a plane is responsible.
Look at all the incompetence, pettiness, partisanship and misinformation of COVID and multiply it by 100.
