Back in the early 90s, I used to enjoy watching the reruns of a cartoon called "The Comic Strip" (1987) created by Rankin-Bass. This cartoon was more like a cartoon block that ran two different episodes of two of four cartoons, including "TigerSharks", "The Mini-Monsters", "Street Frogs", and "Karate Kat."
I remember that in some of the episodes there was a special non-animated segment that played towards the end of the episodes that talked about a specific animal. It did have a short animated intro that I think it showed some hybrid animals, including a duck-like creature and a frog with elk antlers and wings. Then a voice over (I think it was the same one as in the intro to "The Comic Strip") would talk about an animal and would play a film recording of the animal in its natural habitat. I remember that the intro music to "The Comic Strip" would also play in the background. I forgot the name of the segment. It would last about 2 minutes.
I've been looking at many YouTube videos to search for it, including some uploaded episodes, but I can't find it anywhere. It's almost like it never existed. I've also been looking online for maybe a reference to it, but I can't locate it.
For those that want to jump straight to the segments in question, the first one starts at 28:47, the second at 1:27:58 and the third at 1:58:17.
