everyone could use some more BABYLON in their lives
to tell you the truth though, ol Shitty is doing a show on the 25th, about 30 minutes away from my house... apparently it's the only time he'll be doing a US tour and i'm super bummed because i can't go. ah well. here are some more of my favorite songs from him:
(that last one has a hilarious rage against the machine sample starting at around 2:45 that pretty much makes the entire song)
I've loved the Avalanches album Since I Left You for a while now and always knew of its issue with having certain samples removed due to clearance issues, but I didn't know until now that it was originally meant to include another track that had to be taken out entirely. And after listening to it.... fuck this sample clearance bullshit. This is goddamn amazing, I can't stop listening to it. If this was included on the finished album it would have been one of the best tracks on there.
Speaking of the sample removals - I had only listened to the original Australian version with all the samples intact, but when I went to buy my physical copy of the album, I didn't have enough money for that version. So I bought the more common one, as it was much cheaper, even though I was disappointed it had a bunch of samples taken out. Or at least, so I thought. When trying to compare versions today, I realized that the seller goofed up and accidentally sent me the original version instead for $40 less than it would have cost! Rad as hell
I thought that this thread could use a little bump to include some of my favorite Christmas music that I love since it's that time of year and I want to spread my love of the holiday.
Here is Taylor Swift's cover of the classic Christmas song "Last Christmas". Since Taylor Swift is my favorite singer of all time, I think she did an awesome job covering the song and tweaks she made to it fitted her country-pop style she had at the time.
Here is "Where Are You Christmas" by Faith Hill. I think most of you remember that this song was included in the 2000 live action film adaptation of Dr.Suess' book How the Grinch Stole Christmas and while its reception is mixed, most agree that the film's soundtrack was beautifully done, and this song is no exception.
Finally, here is "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmastime" by Paul McCartney of the Beatles fame. I simply adore this song because of how it makes me so jolly this time of year and puts me in the right mood.
That's all I'm going to share some of my favorite Christmas classics.
Despite the frustrations of normal day life we go through, the best thing to do about it is still being happy for our friends and family.

WHOA!
There's two different versions of the album?
Three, actually, if you count the original Zomba promo that was never released (you can find it onlinr though)

Zomba promo is the best honestly lol, and with my baby is amazing. totally completes the album and transitions between stay another season and radio. this and endtroducing are two of my favorite albums, and both revolve solely around sample use to make their own pieces.
