A while back, I had my own little mini Clockman-style search. Basically, when I was younger, I used to stay up way too late watching Nicktoons Network. Those who also watched the network during its heyday probably remember the various shorts that would air between regular shows, such as Doodlez, Tortellini Western and The Naive Man From Lolliland (a sort of proto version of Regular Show before JG Quintel took his talents to Cartoon Network.)
However, one short I vaguely remembered involved a young Hispanic-looking boy and his giant, green clay monster friend riding on a massive skateboarding ramp and, in the process, accidentally travel from their homeland of New Mexico to, well, regular Mexico. Try as I might, however, I couldn't find it online for the life of me, mostly because while I remembered those details, I couldn't remember the actual title, nor the characters' names. As far as I could tell, it wasn't listen on Wikipedia as a part of Nicktoons' old programming lineup either. I kept the search up for a while, but ultimately gave up on it, resigning myself to the fact that I'd probably never see it again.
That was, of course, until I recently tried googling it again out of curiosity and found a 20-30+ minute video on YouTube that was just an entire collection of Nicktoons Network commercial breaks from back in the day. Low and behold, after using the video's progress bar to sift through its contents a bit, I found the short, which is titled Charlie & Chunk. After plugging that into YouTube's search bar, I found the short by itself in much better quality, relatively speaking (the original commercial break video appeared to just be a recording of someone's TV screen.)
It was apparently uploaded by the original creator, over a decade ago in fact. It's amazing how easy these searches become when you find the actual title of what you're looking for. (Hence, my Clockman comparison.) The video can be found below.
With all that in mind, I'm curious. Does anyone else remember catching this obscure short on TV way back when?
