Did anyone tape the national premiere of the PBS show "Arthur" (the first episode was "Arthur's Eyes")
I don't know if PBS member stations ever announced this premiere (rumor has it there was a short-lived Shining Time Station spinoff series premiere, as well as a new episode of Reading Rainbow)
The reason I'm asking this is Arthur is going to start to feel like The Simpsons next month with the new season, with an Apu/Manjula like marriage with Mr. Ratburn (remember the episode where everyone was afraid of him from the first season? Boy times have changed).
It'd just be more nostalgic if we all saw the first episode AS IT PREMIERED.
The PBS website archive says October although some sources like some revisions of Wikipedia say September when Arthur premiered. In fact Disney's Brand Spankin' New Doug's first episode had the character cameo complete with a tune in the style of the Arthur theme and that was the first week in September when that premiered.
PS if found it must have funding credits, bumpers, end credits (with Cinar/WGBH logo combo) and PBS P-Pals ID/System Cue

Unfortunately I didn't record it. I do remember watching it about two weeks after it premiered in the Houston, Texas area and I do remember it was October 1996.
