I'm new here, so I hope this is the right place to post this. I have vivid memories as a child of watching a VHS copy of Puss in Boots. I've tried to find a copy of it over the years, but all I've ever been able to find were a few screenshots, a few trailers, and a couple youtubers mentioning it. I have been wanting to watch it again over the years. Unfortunately I can't seem to find it anywhere. When googling it to try to rent it online, it took me to other Puss in Boots movies.
My brother and I still quote the movie to this day. There was one part where the ogre says he will eat Gunther and Puss for his wedding feast and Gunther says "wouldn't you rather have cake?" and then the ogre says "I hate cake! UHH!" and throws them down some hole or some such. I remember Puss in Boots was trying to convince his master Gunther to get into the castle (I think) by removing all his clothes, and the camera is right up on Gunther's crazy wide-eyed face as he says, "Why, is the Marquis of Carabas a nudist?" I remember there were villagers' heads on spears (a family film...?) as the princess and the king were traveling in a royal carriage. There were also a couple little black bugs (spiders?) and the ogre landed on one of them and the other yells "YA-HA-HAH!"
I would love to watch this movie again; I loved it as a child.
Thats pretty interesting. I have been trying to find a Puss in the Boots DVD that was rather obscure and not well known. For years I have been wondering if this VHS tape might be that movie but I never tried to check.
