Hey, ya'll. I was wondering if anybody has any information on what I'm about to lay down. I remember two things from my childhood that I can't find the name of. I'm from Florida, US. Anyway, Here they are:
OLD ANTI-DRUG VHS CARTOON
Back when I was a little kid in elementary school, they would often play a VHS cartoon during Red Ribbon Week. This was around 2006-2008, but the cartoon looked OLD. I would guess anywhere between 60's to 80's. I seem to remember it being various sketches about a teenager who gets pressured into smoking at school or something. When he does, all sorts of strange monsters start appearing or something along the lines of that. I kind of remember green ones, and dark evil faces. The smoke was always presented as a really dark cloud. It was pretty creepy, looking back on it. I remember a scene with him by his window, smoking out of it, so he doesn't get caught. I don't know much about animation, but it seemed like an artist sketched each frame of the short, and put them all together. It had that constant movement effect. I've looked all over the internet for this short, and can't seem to find anything. Although, this short somewhat resembles it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxfvqlhgH2Q
STRANGE ANIMAL BOOK
So back when I was in first grade (2006), I remember seeing this big book in my media center with weird animals on the cover. They were drawn, but they WEREN’T drawn in a silly cartoon style. I kind of remember a zebra crossed with another animal on the cover. Along with more strange fictional animals. I don’t know. Maybe not. I just remember the book being around the size of a dictionary, and it containing drawings and a ton of information about all these fictional animals. I couldn’t really read at the time, so I never checked it out or anything. I just stared at it that one time in first grade. What amazed me about it was that it was a huge book, filled with a bunch of information on these seemingly mythical creatures that were portrayed as real. Maybe they weren’t. I DON’T KNOW. The book looked older. Maybe from the 90's. I DON'T KNOW. I’ve been thinking about this book lately. There’s something about it that’s such a mystery to me. I’ve searched everywhere on the internet. I can’t find anything. What was that book all about? Was is written by some crazy scientist guy who discovered creatures and no one believed him? Did he publish that book himself and give it to elementary schools? Who would spend so much time and effort, working on a fictional children’s book? Something doesn’t add up here. The book was huge! Okay, now I’m just spitting nonsense. But yeah, I’ve even looked up “strange extinct animals.” I haven’t seen one that looks like the animals/creatures in that book. It’s gonna bother me the rest of my life if I don’t get the title of this book!
Thanks.
