I just wanted to create a thread in the "Off-topic" section of the forums to ask what are some of your favorite channels you like to watch on YouTube. For this thread, linking to them is optional and its okay if you don't want to give a short or long explanation of why you like the channel, but please don't judge others for what channels they like and follow as I am aware that everyone has different tastes on internet popular culture.
Anyways, here are my top 10 favorites:
*Cinemassacre: I love James Rolfe's The Angry Video Game Nerd series for his funny jokes and his understandable (if sometimes exaggerated for comedic effect) frustrations with poorly-made games from the past, plus James himself seems like a really nice guy when he is not playing the Nerd character. I also enjoy his James and Mike Mondays series he does with his friend Mike Matei and the original films he directed before he became known for his signature Angry Video Game Nerd character.
*LGR: I like Clint Basinger's reviews and analysis of several PC games, obscure/forgotten hardware (referred to as "oddware") and the industry itself with a mostly positive, upbeat tone. I also enjoy his impressions of Duke Nukem's voice and his sincerity when he really enjoys something, but also admits the negatives of it as well.
*Phelous: I enjoy Phelan Porteous' Phelous and the Movies series of videos because of his usually funny critiques he gives them as well as making funny edits to the films he watches, like making Beauty's father from GoodTimes' first adaptation of Beauty and the Beast into a bigger idiot and jerk (of the enjoyable kind). I also enjoy his collaborations on films he does with other producers (with Allison Pregler being my favorite producer he has collaborated with), as well as his other series like Bootleg Zones.
*Movie Nights: I like Allison Pregler's sense of humor and usually positive attitude regarding "so bad it's good" films that makes her different from other internet critics. I enjoy both her old series (Obscurus Lupa Presents) and her newer series (Movie Nights) as though they are different in format, but share the same aspect of reviewing and discussing films either by herself or with other producers.
*Cinematic Excrement: I just enjoy Sean Moore's look at badly-made films of the past and present with a different sense of style like calling out the obvious wires hanging on the actors, a count of wasted celebrity cameos, etc. He also has a Vimeo account if you want to watch the episodes in full instead of watching them in separate parts on YouTube.
*Brutalmoose: I enjoy Ian's look at various PC games and his sense of humor in general, whether he is making a Brutalmoose episode, Brutalfoods video or Televoid! episode, I dig it. I also enjoy the way how he edits his videos and makes jokes that don't go on for too long and without overstaying their welcome.
*Musical Hell: I like Diva's look at often-badly received or just mediocre musical films while pointing out their flaws with a sin counter (like non-sense plots, bad music, unlikable characters etc.) and the usual over-the-top punishments she gives them at the end of the video.
*PushingUpRoses: I like Sarah Wilson's takes on a variety of adventure PC games, movies, and TV shows. I also enjoy videos where she talks about her struggles with depression as I relate to them and I enjoy her video collaborations with other video producers like LGR.
*Defunctland: I like Kevin Perjurer's videos talking about the histories of now-closed attractions and history of theme parks and TV in general with a great sense of humor while still being informative. I especially enjoy his videos where he looks at closed theme park attractions of Disney and Universal Studios.
*Linkara: My final recommendation, I enjoy Lewis Lovhaug's Atop the Fourth Wall series and his look at bad comic books (especially when he tore apart all seven issues of Marville). I also enjoy the storylines he sets up on his show (though it's almost impossible to follow if you're just coming to watch him for the reviews he does on comics) and felt that his film on the series was well-done.
