Hey guys, I've had curiosity eating away at me recently, and after coming up empty despite a couple hours' worth of Googling, I figure you'd be the best ones to ask about this.
If any of you used to watch G4, you might remember a show called Cinematech. It was simply a program that showcased short clips from a large variety of video games, and would provide the name/publisher of the game when it was shown. Most the episodes of this program (as well as its spin-off, Cinematech: Nocturnal Emissions) are themselves lost media, but I have a very specific question in mind regarding one of the games I recall being shown, but just can't find it anywhere for the life of me. I believe this was on Nocturnal Emissions specifically, though it may have been on the original show, and this was around 2006-2008.
Here are all the details I remember from the game:
- Side-scrolling platformer
- It very likely may be a PC game (though this is partially just because I know the libraries of console games from the era so well, that I imagine it'd be easier to find if it was on console)
- The art-style looked almost like it was done in pencil, somewhat sketchy-looking. It might have had a black-and-white color scheme, or just used washed out colors, but I can't remember too clearly.
- Player character was a human being, possibly wearing shorts, possibly had long hair or even dreadlocks.
- The music sounded almost kinda "Caribbean"-ish, had an island vibe. Almost like the music of Cool Spot.
- The title of the game was a single word, and it was a name, a male name. Presumably that of the playable character. This is the most frustrating clue because I swear it's on the tip of my tongue but I just can't recall it, and I've been thinking about this for two weeks now.
Any former G4 watchers (or anyone else) think they can help me out?
