I'm 27 and I read this book when I was about six or seven, so in 1997-1998. The book was an older book, and appeared to have been published in the early 1980s at the latest, but could have been as old as the 1940s based on the art style. I remember it was a yellow thin hardback book with drawings that were black and white with hints of yellow. For some reason, I am remembering that it was about a little girl who was lured into the forest by elves or pixies, and it involved lemons or lemonade. It had an eerie feel to it, and there was one particular elf or pixie that was kind of thin and devious looking, and I feel like he was doing a strange dance at some point. I remember he had eyebrows like Spock from Star Trek. This was not a fairy tale as far as I remember and it was its own standalone story, so not in a treasury or compilation.
Darn. That's definitely not it. The story was all by itself and the book was lengthwise rather than portrait style. Thanks for the post. I'm still looking myself.
