Avengers(1998) Lost footage

This American adaptation of the British 60s spy series was panned by critics and fans alike and bombed at the box-office(though I thought it was OK)and perhaps part of the reason for that was that at least 30 minutes of footage was cut(whether that was due to reactions to test screenings or something else is unknown) as a result there's a lot of things in the film that aren't explained.
