Deleted A Christmas Story Scenes

I have been aware of these deleted scenes for a while but was surprised there was no forum made for it yet. So, I decided to make one. There are multiple known deleted A Christmas Story scenes. The scenes are mostly cut fantasy scenes from Ralph. The editor was apparently pressured by MGM to make the film 90 minute so it could play every two hours at the movie theaters. These are the two known deleted scenes, however there may be more. One of these sequences involves Ralphie’s teacher, Miss Shields, coming over to talk to his mother about how phenomenal of a student he is, and why he needs a Red Ryder Gun as soon as possible. Immediately after this sequence, Ralphie lays on his bed and looks at his Flash Gordon comic book. Ralphie then once again fantasizes, this time about him rescuing Flash Gordon from the clutches of Ming the Merciless and saving the planet of Mongo, all of which are fictional locations and characters in the Flash Gordon comic book series. Ralphie of course does all of this with his Red Ryder gun. The 2nd fantasy sequence includes Ralphie rescuing Santa Claus, who’s been kidnapped by Black Bart and his gang of burglars, characters who appeared in an earlier fantasy sequence in the movie. Ralphie fends them off with his Red Ryder gun, resulting in Santa piling presents on top of Ralphie as a reward. Some people who worked on the movie said these scenes have been permanently deleted and are lost forever while others say MGM still have the original copies of them. If the scenes still exist I hope they are found. The only things that exist from these deleted scenes are still photos from them and concept art.
