Michael Paraskevas the son of the late Betty Paraskevas and co-creator of Maggie and the Ferocious Beast, Marvin the Tap-Dancing Horse, and Kids from Room 402 was supposed to get his 4th animated show based on his book Taffy Saltwater's Yummy Summer.
The book and cartoon were announced in 2012, they had plans of making it into a franchise with merchandising, and multi-platform devices. The book was officially released in 2013 however the cartoon never saw the light of day.
It has been almost 10 years since the book was released and the announcement of a cartoon, I'm under the impression it was quietly canceled. If we got a cartoon we would have had it between 2015-2020.
I liked the concept and premise of it and probably wouldn't have minded checking it out. I used to love watching Paraskeva's stuff especially Maggie and the Ferocious Beast, it really is unfortunate that Taffy Saltwater wasn't brought to life in a different form.
On the other hand, Frederator plans on rebooting Maggie and the Ferocious Beast.
