Those being 'Quard and the Fleeps' and 'You’re a Bad Man, Mr. Gum'
First of all, yes, I am aware that most pilots aren’t technically “lost”. Secondly, I would like to apologise for bringing yet another animation-related topic to the table. These Nicktoon pilots, despite being ordered by the network, never ended up being produced. These pilots are also interesting in that very little production footage/ materials have surfaced, which is uncommon.
Quard and the Fleeps
Quard and the Fleeps – or simply ‘The Fleeps’ – is a 2D, flash-animated pilot created and written by TimMcKeon (Odd Squad, Out of Jimmy’s Head) and directed by Dave Wasson (Time Squad, The Cuphead Show). The pilot follows the adventures of two musicians (the Fleeps) who hitch a ride with an alien warlord (Quard) and his mother.
Two excerpts of the pilot exist on Vimeo: one uploaded by McKeon himself and one by ACME Filmworks, presumably on behalf or by Wasson himself. The only other piece of production material that exists is a collage of flash inks by character artist Su Moon. These inks reveal some elements that are presumably only seen in the full pilot, including the Fleeps’ band aspect.
This pilot, or at least some further production material, is probably much easier to obtain than I am potentially making it out to be; I have contacted both ACME Filmworks, as well as Tim McKeon. The former - after three weeks - has yet to respond, while the latter’s options simply don’t work for me. Dave Wasson, on the other hand, can be reached with ease via Instagram. I would greatly appreciate it if a user took the time
to get in touch with him regarding the pilot; I refuse to create an account due to privacy concerns.

You’re a Bad Man, Mr. Gum
Virtually nothing is known about this pilot, which is an adaptation of the bestselling UK children’s book series: Mr Gum. According to various news sources, the pilot was written by series author Andy Stanton and screenwriter Andy Bobrow, sold and produced by Damon Ross, and that it would take on a 2D format, presumably on par with David Tizzyman’s illustrations seen throughout the series. Apart from that, however, nothing else has been made public, not even through snapshots of Stanton’s website.
I assume that these projects were canned due to the ongoing writer’s strike and/or global financial crisis, which were two events that greatly impacted the industry.
