Hot Take Thread

Yeah, the thing is, as...divisive as politics/culture/religion can be, I believe at the end of the day, people mostly move for MONEY above all else. Sorry Redditers! I just don't see massive waves of people going into the Northeast or Cali. People want to be able to afford houses and/or land and as high-quality as life might be, life can actually be way more stratified in a Boston suburb than in a place like Birmingham, AL, Biloxi, MI, Nashville TN, Tampa, FL, etc. As in, if you're upper middle class or rich, you're probably doing super hunky dory in a Northeast state or Cali, but if you're middle class or below, you probably aren't doing quite as hot. Hence the waves of migration south and west, where the middle class still exists all throughout small towns and in big cities. 
That could always change-keep a BIG eye on climate change, which is already drawing some people back up to the Midwest and rust belt (along with cheaper housing and more diversified jobs), but ultimately the vast, vast majority of our people do NOT move for politics.
