Howdy folks,
This is something I've actually previously posted about on Reddit, but the more eyes and ears on this the better. I seem to be one of the very few fans of the (obscure) indietronica, pseudosolo music project titled High Five Spaceship. I've been making an effort to archive the full discography, which stretches from 2009 to 2021. Just about everything from 2014 to now is either available via Spotify or the official Bandcamp page, though some songs and music videos remain lost.
While in theory, contacting the head of the project - Chris Bingham - could uncover some of these early works, he seems to have intentionally distanced himself from them, as many were removed from streaming/download sometime around 2014. He also heads several other creative projects outside of music, leaving HFS as a far, far backburner item. Therefore, I'm hesitant to reach out as a first point of contact quite yet. I've been able to salvage a pretty significant chunk of these lost songs through Soundcloud, Mediafire, other sites such as Reverbnation, and a few archives of extremely helpful Reddit users. I've whittled things down to a relatively short list of lost songs, gathered from combing the Wayback Machine among other places. In chronological order:
Journey Home (2009) - Full track and associated artwork. Removed before 2011, extremely obscure.
Last Place On Earth (2010) - Tracks "Before", "7 Colours", and "Stop".
Four Years (CakeMix) (2010) - Single, somewhat lost? In May 2023, Chris revealed he still has the associated music video/track but hasn't released them publicly.
Hark! The Christmas Baby Cometh (2010) - Partially lost, the associated video was reuploaded by Chris himself in December 2023, but the original audio file and the B-side "nicer version" are still lost.
Strange Energy (MCM 4) (2012) - Partially lost, associated video is freely available, but original audio file and B-side instrumental are lost.
The Sea Hates a Coward (2014) - Song is available, but associated music video has been privated or removed.
Harmony No Harmony (2014) - Possibly lost, cover of the song of the same name by Million Dead. Was exclusively released to the now-defunct streaming service Loudr, theoretically streamable [on Spotify] but locked to a region I can't access.
For God's Sake (2015) - Song is available, but associated music video has been privated or removed.
Tl;dr: 10 songs are missing or partially missing, as well as 2 music videos. Hoping at least one person has at least heard of any of these to verify they're floating around somewhere!
Thanks in advance
