Cinematech was a package show that aired on G4 back in the day, airing game trailers or segments from games, etc. in a seemingly random fashion for half an hour. People may actually better remember Cinematech Nocturnal Emissions, a spinoff that usually focused on footage from eroge and stuff like that and was just naughty enough to be memorable.
Around 2005, an episode aired featuring a full, real time contemporary speed run of Super Mario 64. After starting in full screen to begin the episode, the image shrunk to a corner of the screen. For the rest of the episode, while the usual game trailers and the like were showing, the run through Mario 64 would be running along in the corner. It was a 16 Star run, runners hadn't found methods to beat the game with less Stars yet.
I particularly remember this episode as it introduced me to a glitch I immediately started using, specifically a jump that clips you up the staircase leading to the second floor of the castle, just a little time skip but anyone can execute it after they see it done once. I also remember wondering if it would even run through the commercial break but it didn't, it was just part of the show.
I can find one, maybe two references to this episode on the Internet on a cursory glance.

This forumgoer in early 2006 briefly alludes to the episode during a forum game.
Although this listing doesn't give much information beyond the games included, the episode title "Speeding Along" sure seems suspect. This is likely it, not that having the episode number and title actually helps much. The date lines up to my memories and the forum post as well.
It would be cool to see this again someday, or just to have more people aware of this. This was the first time I EVER saw speed running acknowledged on television, much less shown a full run from start to finish. Really it may have done a lot to get me interested in speedrunning, which I did around that point. It could also maybe just be the first time a speed run was ever shown on television in full? The video didn't have audio and was squished to the corner of the screen, but still, I think it holds significance.
