This topic is about lost (?) betas/prototypes from the SEGA game “The Adventures of Batman & Robin (Genesis/MegaDrive)” which was developed by Clockwork Tortoise & published by Sega (Tec Toy in BR) on a 1995 release date. I’d really appreciate it if anyone could try to help lead this search of mine somewhere in order to have a big discussion start on it & to hopefully have them unearthed publicly online for the world to enjoy!
For some context, there’s this video of the PROTOTYPE “Space Boss” music track ( youtu.be/ipBPEYyUffk ) that contains a noticeable melodic moment cut from its released version among other various minor changes. This video confirms the very existence of said prototypeS & it’s w/ an “S” because there seems to be various sites such as its SEGA Retro page ( www.segaretro.org/The_Adventures_of_Batman_%26_Robin_(Mega_Drive) ) listing their dates w/ seemingly nothing else AND I even got in contact w/ that original video uploader for a moment for more information (you can read the full thread in the comments of said video) in which I was mainly wanting ‘em to upload the PROTOTYPE “Moving Trucks” music track (that seemingly exists) w/ mainly an alternate intro that was said TWICE to be “uPlOaDeD tOmOrRoW” (take a wild guess; it never did both times), so that prototype music track remains to be LOST. So there was also something said about “11 betas” from The Cutting Room Floor ( tcrf.net/The_Adventures_of_Batman_%26_Robin_(Genesis) ) that could possibly relate to the various prototype dates (it somehow seems to have ended up being prototypes for the Game Gear version, but that’s another can of worms).
Any way to possibly help out further is to post this on site such as TCRF or SEGA Retro for more insight on this mystery. Something I really do hope from all of this is to at least have a notable discussion started upon it & just for all kinds of possible insight.
And just 1 more thing that could be worth mentioning which relates to the prototype Space Boss music, there’s this club mix of the Big Boss music ( youtu.be/vBxI9_SU4Nw ) that has a comment from around 5 years back which states… “ When you make space boss remix keep in mind that there is a prototype version of this theme :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNpERgOmXxc “ …but that’s not the same link as the one I listed above & just so happens to no longer exist because the account associated w/ that video got terminated. The Wayback Machine has a singular save from that deleted link, but the video was unfortunately already deleted when that save was made.
This final bit of information could be treated as a “just in case” of sorts as I want to include as much information relating to the betas/prototypes for the Genesis/MD version of “TAoB&R” as much as possible.
