Okay guys, I kind of have an embarrassing amount of thoughts for this, so as the script writer, I feel like I should share my thoughts on the forum (btw norm, it's general_wartortle from the Discord):
The main basis of the game should revolve around the ADWSS search (with tons of other lost media cameos of course). You could start off in your bedroom on the LMW on an actual computer, and then go out into the real world to find it.
The final boss has to be Crack Master. I saw someone on the discord made a nice sprite of him (though it may need to be bigger); the lead-up could be a car chase with Lorenzo Holley, where you crash into the wall revealing the Crack Master (maybe a team-up with the girl, hen, camel and monkey would suit well?)
If my ideas actually get approved, I would hate to spoil stuff, but remember how that one guy (William Glover) threatened to leak the creator logs if some girl didn't date him? How about a twist ending where Lorenzo isn't the actual villain, but he joins forces with you to take down Glover in a wild west shootout?
It doesn't necessarily need to be a long game; I think visitable locations should be the massage parlors where sexual favors were performed for money (lol), the abandoned MVD location in the back of the strip mall, Foy Foods to do some investigating, etc. The story literally writes itself.
I think the main character should customizable for the player, and then maybe two of the most prominent LMW searchers should be party members, and then maybe notable lost media characters could be switchable party members later on?
Dycaite should serve as a guru figure since I think he took a back seat for this search, and then maybe a battle between LMW-tan (since I saw someone already made a sprite for her) and this piece of crap could ensue.
I think a boss battle with Clock Man at the beginning would be nice, as kind of an intro to the battle system (this could take place in your bedroom after you go to sleep after a hard day of researching lost media).
Chubbuck is way too sensitive of a topic to be included in any game; this needed to be said.
There could be a Kingdom Hearts-type element where you bounce from lost media piece to lost media piece with your party and kind of play through them; the whole Electric Piper and rats thing, visit Sesame Street and defeat Margaret Hamilton to stop her from electrocuting Big Bird, etc.

Ready N Steady as the menu music.
Interesting
I rise from the ashes. Only to fall back in again.
Oh yeah, that's a combination of good characters and bad characters. We have barely gotten underway with development but I just wanted to show something off.
♪ Good day, good day, I'm glad you came my way... ♪
- When I created her, LMW-tan was directly based on the "Crack Master" girl. (because back then, it was one of the most wanted lost media and Dycaite had the Crack Master as his avatar) You can tell by the color scheme...
- I'd rather we don't bash/mention Lost Media Archive anymore. We should focus on our own thing.
- Also, I'd rather we not bring in "real world" people into this.
- Before thinking of details like these, think of how the game would be like, how it would look like, how it would play like. Make a reference "bible" that describes all these elements so you have a good ground to stand on.
I was personally thinking of creating some other characters and a little universe for LMW-tan, in some possible future stories... with friends and enemies... nothing too complicated, however...
This is just a rough draft of some of the details of the game. If you have any suggestions, let me know.
The Legend of Dycaite
For decades, the Seekers made it their mission to ensure no media was without a home. However, one by one, the Seekers were killed off by a mysterious organization called Anti-View. The two groups warred for several years.
One day, Anti-View attacked the Seekers' headquarters, kidnapping LMW-tan in the process. Dycaite has recruited you (the PC) to help rescue her before the Night of Eternal Darkness.
Anti-View has one mission: to ensure that lost media remains lost forever. They worship the god of dreams: the Clock Man. They believe that by sacrificing LMW-tan to Clock Man on the Night of Eternal Darkness, they will win the war and destroy the Seekers forever.
The race is on.
Create an avatar and jump in to the action! You start out as a LV 0 nobody with one hit point. But with Dycaite as your guide and the virtual worlds of the Internet to explore, you can make your way up to LV 100 and 101 hit points.
You are soon joined by the surviving Seekers, each with their own Special Ability and a crippling weakness. The higher your LV, the more Seekers will want to join your party.
Once you reach a certain LV, you unlock the ability to recruit Legendary Seekers, including Bedhead Bernie and Dycaite!
Hone your skills at the Seekers' headquarters and in the virtual world. Complete quests based on LMW searches of the past and present. Fight off the army of Anti-View. Challenge bosses based on legendary searches, leading up to the finale against Clock Man.
Clock Man can be defeated by collecting the pages of Holley's Book. The Book contains the prison from which Clock Man can never escape.
We had a discord for this, but the project eventually became kaput; we never got anything done.
I think the game would serve itself really well as an RPG Maker game, but making a game alone is a lot of work.
I was actually thinking about this project recently, and that someday I would like to complete it. I have so many ideas, my issue is just finding the time/motivation to create the actual game; it's like a job, which I already have a pretty frickin' demanding one.
I would've actually preferred we never deleted the discord since people are interested again; never say never!
Wow, this is a really interesting idea. Hmm... Who would be the possible party members? Can't use real people, unless Dycaite wants to be in it.
I'd be more than happy to lend a hand in the development of the plot/characters.
I think my eventual idea was to have a Kingdom Hearts-esque game where you would go to Electric Piper world and the Electric Piper would join your party, etc.
Essentially the hub world would be just a normal city LMW-tan lives in (Sarasota - homage to Chubbuck) and the basis would be the ADWSS search, but you could branch into other lost media "worlds" - like in the city you could go down a road and end up in Sesame Street where you could fight the Wicked Witch.
I like your idea! Lost media lends itself so well to a game (specifically an RPG) it would be sad if one wasn't made.
Dycaite could kind of be like the Yoda of the game, lol.

Sarasota could be the hub of the game. I kinda figured the Internet would be where most of the action takes place, since that's how LMW does its searches.
I can also see a lot of action taking place in the real world. The party would most likely consist of LMW people, so having a real world element to the game would be interesting.

Hi, guys. Terry here with an idea for the battle system.
The goal of each battle is to bring your enemies' HP down to 0, using a variety of attacks and items.
As I stated in a previous post, each Seeker has a special ability and a weakness. Special abilities are charged over time by dealing a set amount of damage.
Items can either boost your attack power or defense strength. I mentioned Holley's Book in a previous post. You can defend yourself with the item needed to defeat the final boss: Clock Man.
Each player starts with three items and gains an additional item each turn.
You can battle in the real world or in the virtual world. Battles work mostly the same way either way.
Battles in the virtual world have one difference from battles in the real world: tokens. You get to draw tokens randomly when you give or receive damage. There are five types of tokens.
Blank tokens don't do anything. Boost tokens boost your attack strength. Draw tokens allow you to draw items from your bag. Bonus tokens give you a bonus attack. Heal tokens allow you to heal.
