Part 3 coming soon! Once part 3 is uploaded, we can celebrate our victory of getting Stanley's Great Big Book of Everything Adventure back on the internet!
Okay, so after watching Stanley’s Great Big Book of Adventure, here’s what I learned: Yes, one of the main animals of the movie really is a kakapo and it’s the very first animal Stanley and Dennis learn about in the movie. The other main animals in the movie are the snowy owl, the jackrabbit and a snake. Towards the end of the movie, there’s a rhino and a mountain lion and a walrus I’m kind of surprised there wasn't a Stanley episode on mountain lions! See, this is why Stanley should have lasted longer in my opinion, they hardly scratched the surface in terms of animals to do an episode on. Hopefully one day they make a rebooted version of Stanley and do episodes on animals that they didn't do episodes on in the original series. Anyway, there’s also four songs in the movie: The Great Big Book of Everything theme song, a duet that Stanley and Dennis song together called "Adventure", Dennis’s solo song about friends and Lionel’s solo song about wanting to go home. Another thing I learned is that the movie doesn’t end after Dennis sings the friends song. The movie ends with Dennis looking at the audience and saying “There’s no place like home" (Way to make a reference to The Wizard of Oz there, Dennis!). Speaking of which, Dennis breaks the fourth wall way more times than he did in Stanley’s dinosaur round-up. That’s the one thing I love about Dennis, specifically in this movie, he looked for any given moment to look at the audience and ask a question or ask for help. I also liked that Dennis invited the audience to join along in singing the alphabet four times (that’s something he never did in the series!) anyway, I’m really happy the movie has been found. We did it y’all! Also, professoratelopus, in case you’re reading these messages and in case you saw the links I sent to Stanley’s Great Big Book of Everything Adventure on Vimeo and archive.org, I hope the movie answers all the questions you asked at the beginning of the summer
Any luck on getting more older shows confirmed for Disney+?
nope, but did you see the links I posted? Stanley's Great Big Book of Everything Adventure is finally on the internet and that's the whole reason this thread was started!

Stanley is a Disney show that ran between 2001-2004 and (that I can remember) had reruns up to 2007. Many episodes from this series remain lost to this day, including one 90-minute TV Special, which is the topic of this post. There is already a discussion about Stanley on this thread: forums.lostmediawiki.com/thread/3004/episodes-old-playhouse-disney-shows?page=4 , but given that we have quite a lot of detail on what happens in this episode, and I personally saw it as a kid and can fill in some gaps, I'll give it its own thread. I already asked about it on Reddit before: old.reddit.com/r/lostmedia/comments/njmxay/lost_stanley_tv_special/ , so most of these details come from my post on there.
The IMDB pages for the episodes state: "Lionel (Stanley's brother) falls into the Great Big Book of Everything." "As Stanley tries to rescue Lionel from the Great Big Book of Everything, Harry and Elsie fight over the book, causing Lionel and Stanley to be trapped in the pages." "Stanley's friends come over and race to put the Great Big Book of Everything back together, hoping to free Stanley and Lionel."
This blog (https://www.laughingplace.com/w/leg/?legacyasppage=News-ID10021950.asp) states:
"Then, in a feature-length movie, when Lionel accidentally falls into Stanley's prized Great Big Book of Everything, Stanley sets out to rescue him. But when Harry and Elsie rearrange the pages of the amazing book, the animals get shuffled too. It's up to Stanley, his wise and worldly goldfish Dennis and their friends to race and put the book back together, find Lionel and get the animals back in their natural habitats, in 'Stanley's Great Big Book Adventure'"
Now as for what happens in the episode, I distinctly remember Lionel being stranded on a snowy mountaintop in the middle of a snowstorm. Presumably as a consequence of the rearrangement mentioned in the previous paragraph, his only companion is a kakapo (the flightless parrot from New Zealand, most famous for humping Stephen Fry on live TV). This episode was in fact the first time I learned about the kakapo. I would say that the kakapo could be considered the "main animal" of this episode as it's what Lionel spends the majority of his time with. This plot detail ended up throwing me off quite a bit since NO OTHER source online mentions a kakapo in a Stanley episode, so I looked up "Stanley" + "kakapo" on Google many times and found nothing.
This episode was much darker and more emotional than other episodes of the show, as seen with Lionel's dire situation. He also profusely apologizes to the kakapo, clearly seeing it as a stand-in of sorts for his brother. At one point the bird turns its back and walks away, and Lionel yells and cries after it.
Here's an interpretation of how I remember a good chunk of the episode: imgur.com/a/WNLBJyu . Does anyone have any leads about finding it? Even though I remember some things about the episode that none of the other online sources mention, I can't find anything about it online.
Hey, did you see that Stanley's Great Big Book of Adventure is finally on the internet?! I posted the links if you'd like to watch and if you did watch it already, what are your thoughts on the episode?
