Who originally recorded most of the footage of Pinwheel on YouTube?
Could it be possible that some of the locals from Columbus, Ohio recorded some of the IDs at the time on VHS?
Or is that option....off the table; so to speak?
There’s no one person that recorded most of the Pinwheel footage on YouTube. It all came from various people that recorded it during various points of the show’s run. One of the people that’s uploaded Pinwheel footage (Jon QUBE) actually did work at QUBE, but I kinda doubt he has any of the mime IDs. And while it’s not impossible that there are VHS recordings, it’s not that likely any will turn up. At the time, VHS was fairly new and expensive. Not that many people had it.

Sort of- there has actually been another mime ID that has been semi-discovered. I say "semi" because only the audio from the ID has been discovered, but not any footage.
You can find it here, at www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljumacPL0oA. The audio starts around 18 seconds into the video, and is obviously from a mime ID as it uses the melody from "Music, Music, Music".
Additionally, there has been some footage found from mime-era Nick (but no promos or IDs)- about ten minutes' worth of PopClips recorded in 1980. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkO31DtGVAM
