According to this Fansite (scroll down a little) Nick signed a deal with Fox to produce theatrical movies for Rugrats, Doug, and Ren & Stimpy in 1993. None of these movies were made. I have heard conflicting rumors about whether or not the Rugrats movie was an earlier version of what came out in 1998. I don’t know what Doug and Ren & Stimpy would be about. I guess there’s a small chance that Doug would have been an earlier version Doug’s first movie.
I think I can shed some insight. As someone whose been collecting screenplays for a while, I've learned about a many cancelled movies that have no info online. Yes, Fox was set to produce Nickelodeon movie before the Paramount buyout. The scripts I know that exist and are being shared privately are: an early draft of The Rugrats Movie, Ren & Stimpy: The Movie, All That! At the Cinema, (and I'm not joking) Aaah! Real Monsters in The Big Scare.
I even have excerpt from the Ren and Stimpy script:
REN & STIMPY - THE MOVIE
WRITTING ROBERT CAMP - JOHN KRICFALUSI
DIRECTING JOHN KRICFALUSI
COPYRIGHT 1993 SPUMCO FIRST PASS SEND TO NICKELODEON, TWENTIETH CENTURY FOX
SYNOPSIS When Stimpy makes the dumbest decision of his life, Ren must protect his sorry kitty exterior from the likes of the outside world, and must ponder if the life he has now is right for him.
EXCERPT CUT TO:
LOG stump on a black background, a light illuminating onto it. An ANNOUNCER clears his throat.
ANNOUNCE [V.O] This motion picture is brought to you by LOG! The wonderful LOG that can provide your little nutcases with hours and hours of enjoyment! Now available in both BOY and GIRL flavors!
All of these except Rugrats were cancelled. I've never heard of a Nickelodeon Doug movie though (but it wouldn't surprise me).
There having been plans for a theatrical AAAH! Real Monsters movie reminds me of a mid 1990s(published online in 1999) fanfiction in which a couple of scenes written by C. 'Sparky' Read as part of his work for an animation class. The 1999 version fills in much more scenes, essentially being a long, but still incomplete script & portrays the movie as being a live-action adaptation with CGI monsters. Not really related, but I thought I'd mention it.
Dreams are boundless, imaginations are infinite, space is a multi-directional spiral & Akazukin ChaCha is my favorite anime

That's why I love this wiki. If I were to leak footage from Kingdom Of The Sun, not many people would question.

i would have absolutely loved to see this be a film, i would have 100% eaten this up 3 decades later as a R&S fan. the synopsis seems to show a great film too. real shame it wasn't made, do you know why was it (and doug) cancelled anyways?
how were you able to get that snippet of the script btw?
Someone in the script collecting community share this with me. I wasn't able to get it from him though
I am not surprised about this in the slightest. I've known about video game collectors for YEARS & lemme tell ya' they can be real nasty hoarders of undumped games & prototypes.

Nah, he wasn't nasty at all. The user just dropped off the face of the Earth.

The Paramount buyout pretty much killed almost all of these. I know that Klasky Csupo was asked if they wanted to revive the Aaah! Real Monsters movie, but declined saying they just didn't want to do it.

OOF that sucks as well. That also happens a lot, so I'm not surprised about that either.

That's unfortunate. I would have loved to see more of what this guy had.

He had stuff that would blow anyone's mind. He had scripts, concept art, test animations, assets and even workprints/animatics for many animated films.

Do you recall if he had anything from the development of Toy Story? (I'm a Toy Story collector who has been looking for production material from the film.)
