I wish I had more to contribute to this conversation considering how much time I spend on Youtube. I'll keep checking in whenever I can. In regards to missing videos/users, I have two back from when profiles used to look like this: Sorry I can't get an exact time estimate, these were uploaded back when I was in elementary and I have a godawful sense of time.
The first was a series of episodic Pokemon Emerald uploads structured like a mixture between fanfiction and ROM hack. I believe this user's name was "sharkboyjames" or something near exact. I remember someone referencing him in the comments section of a video I found a few months back, but I can't find it anymore. Using the gen 3 sprites sharkboyjames would edit the textboxes over with dialogue and create his own plotline. In terms of content, all I can remember is one scene with Team Magma and Three Days Grace playing in the background. This is as close a replication as I could find: www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AERJ1emoeU (volume warning).
The second I unfortunately have less information about, so I'll explain as best I can. I specifically remember she had TONS of uploads, all relatively the same in content. It was just her playing with her sister (friend? they were never shown on camera) playing with Pokemon figurines. Usually it took place on a bed. The Pokemon never did anything particularly interesting, it was more slice-of-life. The uploads were also pretty brief if I recall (2-5 minutes). Here's an example: www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHEJ60QLVfI (again, volume warning). I remember her username had "Olivia" in it. Something generic like "OliviaLovesPokemon". Her channel's background had Flareon in it and her avatar was of Eevee. I can only recount one video in particular in which Dialga and Palkia were playing in a Barbie Dreamhouse-esque toy. I can try to elaborate further if anyone's interested or remembers something similar to these (I wouldn't blame you if you weren't). Though they seem dumb today, this kind of shit was a huge part of my childhood and I'd love to see them again after so long. Thanks for reading!
