But it looks like there were complaints on the thread about how no one got a screenshot of it, so even on this site none exist. I really thought I had seen this recently online which is why I remembered it at all, but I looked and it seems to be really lost. You can't really find episode 140 in any form, much less the CN one.
I don't know why you would say that #140 on Cartoon Network was never documented because I have it. But Cartoon-World, when they put it out on the Internet edited out the parental warning because I don't think they were thinking about some losers seeking that specific thing out 15 years later. XD
The summary of the disclaimer from other users says >It was a shot of some part of the Ninja Academy with the swing from the 1st episode included. But the picture was blurred and it has black text with a white outline reading "The following program contains scenes with moderate violence. Parental discretion is advised." Not to mention the sound of birds chirping in the background.
And if there are any other pieces of Naruto lost media we didn't mention here that you're aware of, feel free to let me know too.
One more thing, I'm guessing the Naruto VHS releases in Japan used cleaned up episodes and not the ones that were originally broadcast which are lost?
I'm not sure if there's any other Lost Media Naruto stuff I know off the top of my head. But I know a lot of obscure media. Closest thing to lost media I personally found was Bando's concept art. I had a vague memory that Bando, an original character in Naruto Clash of Ninja Revolution 2 had concept art shown somewhere but I couldn't find it anywhere online. And I started asking around with no luck. After I found my old Shonen Jump Magazines, I unintentionally found it. I really wish I had a good scanner for these kinds of things. This is a phone screenshot. If you want to find a cleaner scan. The least I can do is pinpoint the exact issue, Shonen Jump Feb 2009 Volume 7, Issue 2.
You might wanna do your own research just in case. Because I don't if this is true, but I believe it. The top comment here mentions that the Cartoon Network edits were done at Viz. Not in-house like Outlaw Star and Rurouni Kenshin. www.reddit.com/r/Toonami/comments/6zpyk1/cartoon_network_naruto_edit_list/
Also linked in there is a list of censorship. censorship.fandom.com/wiki/Naruto Tho, it confused me at first. Whenever he's talking about a line being replaced. He's comparing it to the Japanese dialogue. Not some uncensored dub line. He's reading off the English subtitles on Netflix. Instead of the English (CC) subtitle track. I think the movie-censorship link I previously sent is a clearer documentation since that has pictures.
Now about those Japanese VHS Tapes you mentioned. I...don't know. BUT! I'm guessing that its the Broadcast version. Worth the gamble. Taking a Generation leap forward. My Hero Academia releases a handful of Broadcast episodes to DVD in short bursts, THEN when the season is over, spend time doing corrections and release a polished copy in a couple Blu Rays. So, I'm assuming this is the standard and might've been the case with shows back in Naruto's era. Where the VHS could potentially be the broadcast copy, and the DVD is released later, containing corrections.
Also, arian. Sorry if I'm derailing the topic. I know the original topic/request was about the missing dub TV airings.
I guess, it's worth pointing out things that most likely weren't dubbed. This is very similar to the Filler Episode 26. Where's there's an alternate extended version. The Japanese broadcast for the first episode of Naruto Shippuden had these bonus segments where Naruto and Sakura talk to their future selves. I don't think this was ever dubbed. archive.org/details/db-naruto-shippuuden-001-002-75-f-021-ea/-DB-_Naruto_Shippuuden_001-002_-75F021EA-.avi
And as mentioned before, Shippuden Episode 188 has a horny omake after-credit scene with Naruko and Jiraiya. To my knowledge, it's the only omake that's not dubbed. My theory is that it was dubbed. And then removed before release. Potentially affecting the age rating and wasn't worth fighting for a silly bonus scene. Again, pure speculation.

Whoa that's an awesome find! I'm glad we finally have a visual. Looks like I was remembering it incorrectly as well, I thought the font was more similar to that stylized kind they used in some of the early commercials.
I don't remember the disclaimer being that bold. I could've sworn it was a skinnier font. But "Moderate violence". That's definitely it. It being made for Episode 1 definitely sheds some light on why it's a random shot of the Academy. They just reused it for #140.
This begs the question: When did Episode 1 have a disclaimer? I don't think it was during Toonami's premiere. Maybe back when Cartoon Network was shilling the show in early time slots. Next to regular cartoons.
Was going to post that the parental disclaimer was found but I see bluebaron already did! That showed up way faster than I thought it would, and given its source I wonder if there is more lost Naruto content in that server the reply mentioned. Someone could have the missing episodes this thread was originally talking about.
